I just found out that Ramen X, a Japanese fast food, will open their first branch tomorrow at TriNoMa in Quezon City. And it might be the place I’m looking for—a go to place for a good ramen fix.

According to their Facebook page, they aim to serve authentic and genuine ramen at affordable prices so that everyone gets a chance to experience the flavors of the different regions of Japan who serve this steaming hot and irresistible savory dish. And if you’re not really into ramen, you can try their rice bowls dishes.

Too bad I didn’t know they’ll be doing a food tasting earlier tonight. Oh well, I’ll go there next week!

Are you one of the lucky ones who tasted Ramen X’s ramen earlier? Sound off below!

Quiznos

Quiznos

Quiznos, one of the nation’s premier quick service restaurant (QSR) chains and pioneer of the toasted sandwich, today announced a partnership with the ACA Group, the master franchise selected to launch the first Quiznos restaurants in the Philippines. The first location in the partnership will be the banner store opening in Manila early this year, with plans for further expansion to more than 35 additional locations, based on the successful results of the first location.

The partnership is the latest in a series of significant international development announcements for Quiznos, demonstrating the continued success of the much-loved American brand in more than 40 regions around the world.

“The ACA Group is a phenomenal partner with well-known, established businesses in the Philippines. With foodservice experience and a strong appreciation for American brands, they have a keen understanding of their customer,” said Lee Vala, international chief development officer for Quiznos. “We are excited to work with the ACA Group, and know that the strong Quiznos brand and premium recipes will expand their market in the Philippines.”

The Philippines’ hard-working middle class, affinity for American brands, and preference for hot, fresh food have been hailed by Quiznos and the ACA Group as indicators of the brand’s prospective success in the country. Both are committed to securing high-quality sites to drive excellent exposure for the Quiznos locations in the Philippines.

“Quiznos’ unique toasted recipes really appeal to the Filipino palate, and we are confident local consumers will embrace Quiznos as they have embraced other major American brands,” said Dr. Amable Aguiluz, CEO of the ACA Group. “With the strength of the Quiznos brand, we know Filipino consumers will come out in droves to experience Quiznos’ chef-inspired tastes and world-class service and operations. We are searching for an amazing first location for our banner store in Manila, as we want to create a huge impact with this great American brand.”

The ACA Group, a franchise organization and business investment network with more than 20 years’ experience, has successfully introduced a variety of American brands to the Filipino market. The ACA Group also holds master franchising rights for US-based Johnny Rockets, and was recently recognized as the brand’s international franchisee of the year.

The partnership between Quiznos and the ACA Group is the most recent in a series of successful partnerships and international store openings for Quiznos. Through its international development initiative, Quiznos expects to open more than 400 international locations by 2020 in more than 40 regions around the world.
Now in its 30th year, Denver-based Quiznos is a national and international chain designed for today’s busy consumers who are looking for a tasty, freshly prepared alternative to traditional fast-food restaurants. Using premium ingredients, Quiznos restaurants offer creative, chef-inspired recipes for sandwiches, soups and salads.

CNN Money ranked toasty sub pioneer Quiznos as the No. 2 most popular franchise of the past decade in 2010. In 2009, Quiznos’ Toasty Torpedoes earned a spot as one of the top 10 new product introductions from the Most Memorable New Product Launch Survey. In 2011, QSR Magazine ranked Quiznos No. 21 overall in its Top 50 Chains in system-wide sales. In October 2007, Quiznos was recognized for leading the QSR industry in wait time performance by the Mystery Shopping Providers Association’s (MSPA) 2007 Wait Time Study. In May 2007, Zagat’s consumer surveys listed Quiznos in the top 5 for Top Food, Top Facilities, Top Service and Top Overall, ahead of its direct competitors. Rose & Grace Restaurant established several outlets in Batangas, but the one in Sto. Tomas became the travelers choice due to its location along highway. They offer a variety of Batangas cuisine and other local Filipino dishes.

The place offers one of the most inviting, interesting, and delicious plate in a setting that reveals the warmth of Batangueno hospitality. This restaurant, or carinderia as they call it in Filipino language, is famous for its Bulalo. Bulalo is beef, bone marrow in bone-in beef shank, and vegetable soup. Not to be confused with the marrow in the bone of the beef shank or the cut of the beef (i.e., bone-in beef shank).

If you’re on your way to southern part of the Philippines, I consider this must try restaurant for your lunch or dinner.

Mangan Monday

Sinful Spoon and I usually spend our usual weeknights dinner in Robinsons Place Manila or TriNoMa. Last Monday, we decided to have it in SM North Edsa. We met past eight and walked around a bit while deciding where to eat. After a few minutes, it boiled down to Yoshinoya or Mangan. Considering we had Kitaro Sushi last Sunday, we chose Mangan.

Las Paellas Café

Category : Casual dining, Restaurants

A few months ago, my family and I went to SM North Edsa because my ate needs to apply for a Sun Broadband Internet subscription. After she applied she suggested that we have our lunch at Las Paellas Café. According to the web, the restaurant was established back in August 1997 by Mr. Ramon Del Gallego Jr. Las Paellas Café offers Spanish, Asian, and Fusion cuisine.

The place is half empty when we got there, maybe because it’s past 1 PM already. Since my ate tried the place before, we let her choose what to order. We had Calamares Fritos, Churros con Chocolate, Sizzling Baked Clams, Paella Valenciana, and Lapu-Lapu Romana.

Calamares Fritos is Las Paellas’ popular golden crispy squid served with garlic mayonnaise. It costs P140.00.

Churros con Chocolate is a sugar-sprinkled fritters with thick Spanish hot chocolate. It costs P125.00.

Las Paellas Cafe's Paella Valenciana

Las Paellas Cafe's Paella Valenciana

Paella Valenciana is a saffron rice with chicken, pork, chorizo, seafood, and vegetables. It costs P450.00.

Las Paellas Cafe's Sizzling Baked Clams

Las Paellas Cafe's Sizzling Baked Clams

Sizzling Baked Clams is a sizzling hot baked clams with garlic butter sauce. It costs P150.00.

Lapu-Lapu Romana is basically a crispy Lapu-Lapu with tomato-mushroom sauce topped with mushrooms, capers and sun-dried tomatoes. It costs P195.00.

I don’t know if this is the best place to eat paella but I think this is one of the better places to eat one. Their paellas are delicious, nicely prepared with a generous serving and, sold for an affordable price.

The inasal meal set comes with a creamy Buko Pandan and iced tea.

Did you know? The “chicken inasal” is a local version of the Filipino barbecue that originated from Bacolod City in the Visayas islands south of the Philippines. It is a delicious dish of chicken parts marinated in local herbs and spices, skewered on bamboo sticks then grilled to juicy perfection.
